Shannon

Shannon graduated showing this piece and received a Directors Award.

Annie

With Ohio Pride Annie carved this model out of dense foam, left. I love the way the bluish glazing flowed with the Ohio River on the far right. This swing state has leaned to the left.

Monica and Anne

Monica's forms on the left, with collaborative cups on the right
Anne's form on the left with the collaborative cups on the right. It was great to see the collaboration between these two. They asked a lot of questions and took advantage of creative liberty.

Joline

Joline was referencing gypsum crystals while working with the same but refined " plaster" to get to this form.

Kaitlin

This student worked very meticulously on form, but also had a way with 2-d. I introduced a tile project which some students really excelled at.

Spring 2009 Hand Carved Plaster Forms

Over all, it seems that the spring mold making students have pursued more complicated forms then those of the winter quarter. The Spring class was aware of their predecessor's, and have been influenced a little.

Shannon' diamond lattice insanity

She has really stumbled across something here with this diamond form that has been cut away to its minimal structure.

Erin E.

Free form goodness.

Autumn,

It is nice to see a couple of takes on the same form. Autumn flipped the object over for variation.

David's Rhyton

David digitally modeled and cnc milled from dense foam, the form on the right to produce these rhyton drinking vessels. With no means for resting these cups, the drinking must continue. Check out David web site, click here.
